Hello!
Here it is my first artwork of the year 2009!
It's an artwork from my book "Os Sete Punhais de Mélua". I have decided to rewrite the book in order to fix some grammar mistakes and give more character's development.

The two characters in the image are the Earth Empress Pacífico Lilith Dieulignage and one of her guards Gabriel Superfície.

Pacífico is a strong female with a big personality. She is very confident and a great ruler, as waited from a empress. Although, she fell in love with one of her guards, Gabriel, even whe she couldn't. Unable to tell her secret to anyone, the empress suffered alone because of a love she couldn't assume.

Gabriel was the first child of one of the best Emperial guards. He fell in love with the imortal Empress since young age, but just like her, he knew it was a forbidden love. Even being forbidden, the two continued supporting each other, until it was time to reveal it to the world.

For Pacífico's design, I was inspired by the great princess dresses from the XVIII century with all the lace trimmed and flowers. She usually wears dresses that makes her remember the sea.

For Gabriel's one, his outfit was inspired in the mosqueters one, that's why that hat. the Emperial guards dress all in white, changing only the colour of the stripe according to rank.
